It is with deep sadness that the family of Yvonne Marie Abraham, age 58 years, announce her passing, peacefully in her home and surrounded by those she loved on Saturday, November 23, 2024.
Yvonne will be forever missed by her beloved husband of 34 years, Yves Bernard; their daughters Chelsey (Jordan) and Shelbey (Bradley), grandchildren Anna, Nora, Tanner, Averey, and Oakley, her siblings Claudette, deceased (Roger, deceased), Claudie (Jane), Donnie, deceased (Brenda, deceased) Sue, Theresa (Dave), Margie (Gilbert, deceased), Steve, Minnie (Dennis), Georgette, and Donna (Poncho), her in-laws Mitch (Laurier), Jackie (Gaetan), and Marc, and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Yvonne was born in Geraldton, Ontario on May 2, 1966 to Ernest and Georgette (nee Lambert) Abraham. She grew up in a big, loving family, where her need for connection and love first took root, and this shaped her life and her love for her own family. Yvonne had an ability to connect with people everywhere she went, this was evident in all of the friends she made and lives she’s touched throughout the years. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel truly special and loved, and her kindness and selflessness were at the heart of who she was. Yvonne’s love for community was apparent through her years of volunteering within different organizations and community events. She balanced her work and family beautifully, always making time for everyone and everything that she loved. Yvonne fought a long, hard battle, though most people likely would not have known due to her strength and grace. The last few years spent at camp surrounded by family, friends, and nature brought her so much comfort and peace. As she told us, the best days of life have been spent at the lake… and with that, she is “ gone fishin’ “
In accordance with Yvonne's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Yvonne's incredible life will be held on Thursday, November 28, 2024 from 1:00pm until 3:00pm at the Geraldton Royal Canadian Legion Robert Frost Branch #133. Yvonne requested people wear their favourite jerseys to her celebration, but no Montreal Canadien jerseys welcome, haha.
