With heavy hearts, the family announces the passing of Thomas Robert McCreery on Sunday February 4th, 2024. Thomas was born on September 26th, 1955, in Fort William, On.
When Tom was 17, he met his best friend Marilyn, and they were happily married for 45 years. After marriage, they welcomed two sons (Daniel and Gerald) into the family. Together they enjoyed camping, skiing, and travelling.
In 1981 Tom joined the UA Local 628 plumbers and pipe fitter’s union where he remained a member until his passing. Tom enjoyed his trade, took pride in his work, and looked forward to mentoring others. Tom’s family remained his priority, but he was always available to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors. Tom will be greatly missed by everyone who had the good fortune to have him in their lives.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn, sons Daniel (Marcie) and Gerald, cherished granddaughters Norah and Noelle, sister Linda (Marc Lalonde), brother-in-law Peter Black, sister-in-law Geraldine (Tony Godecki) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Tom was predeceased by his parents Osborne and Esther, sisters Colleen and Maureen McCreery Black, his in-laws Mary and Ernie Rollason and brother-in-law Joe Rollason.
A private family gathering has taken place and a celebration of life will be held on February 25th from 1pm to 3pm at Sargent & Son Reception Centre. Should friends desire, contributions may be made to a charity of choice. Condolences may be made online at sargentandson.com.
Life is short, live it. Love is rare, grab it. Memories are sweet, cherish them.
Never miss an opportunity to tell someone that you love them!
