Mr. Thomas Frederick Marak, age 78 years, resident of Thunder Bay, passed away on July 22, 2023 at Thunder Bay Regional Hospital with his family by his side. Born on August 5, 1944, in Fort William, Ontario. He was educated and employed as a millwright and worked in the local mills including Great Lakes and Abitibi Forest Products. He subsequently worked in the local Praxair Plant, was an instructor at Confederation College and worked at Northwest Fencing before his official retirement.
 
Tom enjoyed spending time with his family especially camping and fishing. His last few summers included camping with his son and daughter at Kashabowie Lake which included weekends filled with ladder ball tournaments and card games. During his life he took many road trips and vacations in numerous places. Tom loved to reminisce and tell stories of his exploits. He was also known to visit the local casino for fun.
 
Tom is survived by his children and grandchildren, Terri-Ann Sylvester & Steve Sutch (Joshua, Jason), Tom and Pam Marak (Mitchell, Jaidyn). His sisters Ruby Elvish and Alice Martinsen, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
 
Tom was predeceased by his parents Eugene and Marie Marak, and brothers-in-law George Elvish and Jim Martinson.
 
A Celebration of life for the late Thomas Marak will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm in the Verdi Room at the DaVinci Centre, 340 S. Waterloo St. Cremation has taken place and a private interment will be held at a later date.
 
The family would like to thank doctors and nursing staff at the TBRHSC in the Emergency Department, ICU and the 2C ward for their professional and compassionate care provided to him.
