It is with deepest sorrow that the family of Tarl Glen Craigie, born on April 13, 1981, announces his unexpected passing on September 28, 2024. Tarl is survived by his father, Glen, his two daughters, Serenity (Cohen) and Sadie (mother Leora), sister, Breanne and nephew, Taylor, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Tarl is predeceased by his mother, Anne, grandparents Eila and Arne Nousiainen, cousin Jason and Aunt Arlene.

Born in Thunder Bay, Tarl spent his childhood growing up together with his cousins and sister, who were all close in age, playing in the country and at camp at Dog Lake. Tarl loved reading books from an early age and was always fiddling with anything electronic, mechanical, and ultimately, grew fascinated with computers. Tarl graduated from Confederation College’s Multimedia Production, Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services Program and had numerous jobs throughout his adulthood in IT Management.

Tarl’s greatest pride and joy were his two daughters, Serenity and Sadie, who he loved beyond measure. Tarl was his happiest with the girls at Tornroos Lake, teaching them to swim and fish, watch football games together and having dance parties. There was nothing he loved more than seeing his girls grow into beautiful and smart individuals and nothing made him prouder than knowing they were safe and happy. While Tarl’s later years were filled with considerable health issues, his love for his daughters and the unwavering support of his parents lessened the demons he was fighting.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Harbourview Funeral Centre, 499 N. Cumberland Street, in Thunder Bay. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Dew Drop Inn, the DEK Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
