It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Steve Rysinski at TBRHSC on September 28, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Steve was born on December 4, 1953 to parents Eugene and Mary Rysinski. While in high school Steve met June (nee Tuomi) the love of his life and later they got married in 1975. During their 49 years of marriage, together they raised 3 beautiful children - Lindsay, Tiffany and Michael. Steve was extremely proud of all their accomplishments and the successful, responsible adults they became. Family was most important for Steve and he was happiest having family get-togethers to celebrate birthdays and special holidays throughout the year. Becoming a Grandpa to Julie, Ellie and John brought immense joy into his life and they enjoyed his fun loving nature.
Steve had a great passion for the outdoors, fix-it projects, carpentry, motorcycles and auto mechanics. Fishing and camping at Blue Lake became the family’s favourite camping destination for over 25 years. He was able to relive all the wonderful experiences of the great outdoors for the second time when he introduced camping to his grandchildren.
Steve was a dedicated Master Journeyman Electrician and well respected for his meticulous work ethic and commitment to his craft by his coworkers. Steve mentored several apprentice electricians during his 40 year membership as a member of IBEW Local 402.
Steve is lovingly remembered by his wife June, daughters Lindsay Tomasevic (Mike);Tiffany Sorokopud (Mike); and son Michael Rysinski (Thaisa); grandchildren Julie, Ellie and John Sorokopud as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Steve was predeceased by parents Mary and Eugene and brothers Matthew and James and father and mother in-law Victor and Jean Tuomi.
Steve’s fun loving nature, beaming smile and infectious laugh will be deeply missed by family, friends and all who knew him.
