Mr. Stanley Thomas Herridge, age 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 23, 2023.

Stan was born April 29, 1930 in Liverpool, Nova Scotia to (Otto) Daniel and Violet Herridge. He married the love of his life, Jean Jewison, on September 3, 1950.

As an upstanding member of his community, Stan was a man with a strong work ethic. He worked his way up to become a supervisor at Abitibi Fine Papers and was well-respected in his career. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved fishing, hunting and spending time at camp. Stan was also a sports enthusiast who spent many years coaching hockey, golfing, cheering on his favourite teams, and playing shuffleboard with his friends at McKenzie Heights. Stan was creative with an eye for detail. He was a talented wood carver who received many awards and a proud member of the Thunder Bay Carvers. His wildlife carvings are enjoyed all across Canada amongst family and friends.

Stan will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 73 years, Jean, sons Danny and Lance, daughters Debbie Gunther, Jennifer Catanzaro, Kathi Milburn, Susan (Roger) Nolan, 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Predeceased by one son Larry, daughter-in-law Cindy Herridge, son-in-law Dave Milburn, brothers Howard, Dan and Charles, sister Marguerite Somerton and his mother and father (Otto) Daniel and Violet Herridge.

A celebration of Stan’s life will take place on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at the Current River Community Centre located at 450 Dewe Avenue from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Stan’s honour to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
