Roberta (Bobbi) Rita McFadden of Thunder Bay, Ontario passed away peacefully on Friday, December 1, 2023 with family by her side.
Bobbi was born Aug 27, 1929 in Port Arthur Ontario and raised in Current River. She enjoyed a long career at Crooks Pharmacy where she had many years of fun with the “Crooks Gang” as she always called it. An active member of Our Lady of Loretto and Corpus Christi Parishes in Thunder Bay, Bobbi was recognized for her 60+ years as a member of the Catholic Women’s League. In her retirement Bobbi enjoyed travelling to the Holy Land in Israel and volunteering her time for the St Joseph’s Care Group and Canadian Cancer Society, having recently received a 40 year of volunteer services award from the province. Bobbi, an accomplished pianist, could be heard playing often at her residence at P.R. Cook where she had built many cherished friendships over the years. Bobbi had a wonderful appreciation for nature and always encouraged everyone to see the beauty in nature all around.
She is survived by her family; Patricia Muir, Jeff (Shawanna) Muir, Eric (Samantha) Muir and Syd (Amanda) Turner of Oshawa and Leslie (Jeff) Keith of Thunder Bay, along with many great great nieces and nephews she loved dearly. She will be lovingly remembered by her dearest friends Ray and Isabel Goulet.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of P.R. Cook for their care of Bobbi over the years of her residence there. A huge thank you to all the staff of 7S at HRM and Dianna Vecchio for their wonderful compassionate care of Bobbi throughout her last months.
A private interment with family to occur. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
