Rae Michelle Bannon

May 16, 1981 – December 6, 2023

It is with the saddest of hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Rae Michelle Bannon, age 42 years.

Michelle was born in Thunder Bay, ON on May 16th, 1981 and from Day 1, she melted hearts.    Even as a toddler, Michelle had a spontaneity and curiosity that exceeded her age.  The world was under her microscope and she certainly took every opportunity to make it her own (while taking many a family and friend along for the ride).  Michelle had a natural  commitment to make others laugh even in the most difficult of times.  Her wildly quirky, spirited heart leaving no one behind.  As Michelle became older, her altruistic nature became laser focused on helping the most destitute amongst us. Michelle would literally give the shirt off her back to help another.  And this went for injured or abandoned animals as well.  Her heart for the underdog over-spilt with love. And to say she was a creative and artistic force would be an understatement.  She could design, sketch, paint, build, sew and cook like no other!  Her natural talents were truly something to behold.

Michelle’s greatest gift to the world was when her daughter Micheala was born in 2000. Michelle’s love for her daughter was fierce and she did everything in her power to give Micheala the best life.  Michelle was never happier than when she had her daughter in her arms.  They were the best of friends and Michelle certainly shines bright in everything Micheala does.

Michelle and her infectious smile will be forever missed by her mother Connie, her daughter Micheala, her brother Zach, her many Aunts and Uncles, Grandparents and unlimited number of friends and loves whose hearts were blessed to be touched by Michelle’s presence. And of course Mallory, her fur baby she shared with Micheala.

Michelle was predeceased by her dad Bill Korrall and several Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends.

A viewing is scheduled for December 23rd from 2-4 pm for family and close acquaintances. This will be honoured at Westfort Chapel (420 West Gore Street).  A celebration of Michelle’s life will be held at a later date with an announcement to follow.

Should friends and family desire, donations made in memory of Michelle to the Thunder Bay District Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
