It is with our hearts breaking that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother Linda Marie Marshall on Friday, November 29, 2024 In the acute unit of the Nipigon Memorial Hospital with the love and support of her family, after a brief battle with Cancer.
Born and Raised in Dorion, and staying in her hometown to raise her children. Linda was a very strong lady, in both heart and mind, Her greatest love in life where her children and grandchildren. She had a love of reading, and you would most likely find her in her chair reading one of many books. She had a tough exterior but once you got to know her, you saw and received the love that she gave to many.
Linda grew up on a small farm in Dorion with 6 brothers and 2 sisters and some of the stories that have been told are quite interesting. Such as walking to the school bus through snow taller than they were, with the bus driver shining a flashlight so she could be seen. Many hard hours were put into that family home and that is where Linda learned the strong work ethic she had.
Linda worked most of her adult life in restaurants, and for many great employers like Peter and Joyce of the Pass Lake Truck Stop. She made many friends and acquaintances during this time and one of her favourite quotes came from a cartoon drawing one of her customers gave her on a napkin, ("Smile it makes people wonder what your up to").
Linda will be sadly missed by her Children Melinda Joyce Cordone (Richard) , Bradley James Marshall (Charmain) both of Thunder Bay, Stepchildren Leander Hult (Patty) Goulais River, Terri-Lynn Randell (Mike) Searchmont ON, David Hult (Mavis) Searchmont ON Her remaining siblings Elizabeth(Liz) Harrington (Russell) of Spruce Grove Alberta, Nancy Albertson of Hurkett ON, Alfred Deramanchuk of Thunder Bay ON, Sister in-laws: Sandra Bonde, Debbie Bonde, Debra Marshall, Cathy Smith (Rejean), Heather Gordon. Brother In-laws: Wayne Marshall (Ginette), Joey Marshall (Solange), Gary Marshall (Sandra) Grandchildren: Troy, James, Emma-Lee, Lincoln, Maelee, Nayson, Amelia, Anissa, Annette and, Christian Step-Grandchildren: Nicki, Kelly, Dalton, Alex, Issac, Brooklyn, Numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, and Step-Great Grandchildren and her dear friend Lucy
Linda is predeceased by her husband, James Marshall, Father Harry Bonde, Stepmother Madeline Deramanchuk, Father in-law Prosper Marshall, Mother in-law Margrette Marshall, Common law husband, Gunnar Hult, by five brothers James(Jim)Bonde, Robert(Bob)Bonde, Herman Bonde, Henry Bonde, Gary Bonde, Step grandchild Dylan Hult. Sister-in-Law Cathy Bonde, Brother in-laws David Albertson, Alan Albertson, Lawrance Marshall, Richard Marshall. As well as other loved family members.
The Family wishes to thank the caring staff of the Nipigon Memorial Hospital during the brief period that Linda was in their care. As well as Harbourview Funeral Home for their care and compassion.
As to Linda's wishes cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at a later date. A celebration of life will be planned for the early Summer for friends and family.
