It is with great sadness that the family of Kristopher Reginato announce his passing, at the young age of 31.

Kris was born in Thunder Bay and at a young age moved to Vancouver BC and enjoyed his time there cheering on his favorite NHL team the Vancouver Canucks. He returned to Thunder Bay to complete his High School years at Churchill High School and then moved on to Confederation College and became a certified 310 mechanic. His passion for life and enjoying it was undeniable in everything he did. His sense of humor, quick wit, stubbornness and care for everyone were some of his greatest traits.

Hockey was his passion from a very young age, and he went on to be very successful as a player, coach and scout. He coached with his father for many years winning U15A and U18A City Championships with the Neebing Hawks. Then winning the Lakehead Junior Hockey League’s League and City Championships as the head coach of the Thunder Bay Bandits and finally winning the SIJHL title as a scout with the Kam River Fighting Walleye.

The only thing Kris loved more than hockey was the love of his life Morgan. They met six years ago and the two of them did everything together. He loved their fur babies, Gus being his favorite and spending time with family and always enjoyed being with friends. He loved travelling and having nachos and wings every 2 weeks with Morgan when Kris was back from work.

Kris is survived by his fiancé Morgan Clark, mother Carrie Mowat (Doug), father David Reginato (Stacey), brothers Eric (Megan) and Dalton, uncle Ivan, grandparents Doug and Shirlene Mowat, Maria Reginato and Darcy and Helen Dufour. Along with many other family members and great friends.

He was predeceased by his Nonno Dino Reginato, uncle George Mowat, uncle Franco Reginato and great grandmother Prisilla Tibbles.

The family would like to recognize the great care Kris received at St. Lukes Hospital in Duluth MN. Especially the ICU nurses on 6 West. To the nurses Mackenzie, Nicole, Mike, Jeremy, Spencer, Kayla and all the team there who did everything for us we thank you. A thank you to the ICU team Kayla, Ashle, Lucy and Dr Hadad at the TBRHSC for your care and support you gave Kris when he came home.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Kitty Kare or Thunder Bay Minor Hockey in Kris’s name would be appreciated. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 22nd at the Elks Lodge, 201 North Syndicate Ave from 1pm to 4pm.
