Born December 5, 1956, in Camp Petawawa, ON, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on January 3, 2025.

Kayne spent much of his life in Thunder Bay and Longlac, ON, working alongside his father in the family businesses, Car Reconditioning Centre and the L’Oree Des Bois Motel. A self-taught "jack of all trades," Kayne had a remarkable ability to tackle anything put in front of him. Some might even describe him as a maniacal genius. He was especially brilliant with electrical wiring — much to the chagrin of anyone who tried to open his bedroom door!

A skilled marksman with a dead-eye shot, Kayne was an excellent hunter. He also knew all the best fishing spots in Longlac, often going out with his father, wife, son, and niece, nearly every day. Kayne had a passion for building cars, motorcycles, and snowmobiles — anything that could he can make go faster. He was also known for his love of blowing things up. Kayne always had a love adventure and a twinkle of mischief in his eye. He would often make bombs and set off explosions, much to the distress of his mother, who was often left pulling her hair out over his dangerous antics.

Though a man of many talents, Kayne was simple at heart, with his greatest value placed on family. He is survived by the love of his life, Katherine Krienke; his children, David and Shannon Krienke; his grandsons, Devon and Riley Krienke; his older brother Kurt (Elaine) Krienke; his big sister Karen (John) Vacek; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Kayne has been reunited in eternal rest with his parents, Oran and Dorine Krienke, and his nephew, Kenneth Miller.

A special thank you is extended to Emily Ladouceur for her dedicated care during Kayne’s final year. He spoke often of your kindness and unwavering spirit.

A family gathering will be held at a later date to honour and remember Kayne.
