Embraced by the love of his family, John Ronald Silvey passed away January 19, 2025.
He was born February 2,1940 in Fort William Ontario, where he lived with his family: his mother Anna, stepfather Mike, his sisters Irene, Ann and Mary and brother Peter.
John retired in 1999 with the position of Fire Captain with the City of Thunder Bay.
He was a longtime member of Chapple’s Golf Club and the Fort William Country Club. John enjoyed many golfing holidays to the States with “the boys”. He was also a member of the Fort William curling club.
John and Margaret enjoyed many winter holidays in Laughlin, Nevada and travelling to Duluth with their friends enjoying the casinos.
John is survived by his wife of 61 years Margaret, daughter Barb (Jeff) and son Ronald (Amy). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
John was predeceased by his father John, his granddaughters Kayla Fitzpatrick, Prayer & Faith Silvey, and numerous other relatives.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Firefighters Toys for Tots campaign.
John will be remembered for his sense of humour, his love and his kindness.
