It is with heavy hearts we lost the strongest man on Earth on February 5, 2024, while holding his wife’s hand, surrounded by family. Jack was born on June 6, 1949 to John and Isabel Currie in Port Arthur. Jack married his high school sweetheart, Doris Gaudette, and have been married 53 years. He worked at Great Lakes Paper for 30 years and retired in 2005. Where he then became the Grandkids biggest hockey fan and stats keeper. In the summer you could find Jack fishing and camping at Northern Light Resort for the last 41 years. He enjoyed fishing for lake trout, hunting, and having mornings on his deck with his family and friends.
Survived by his wife Doris, children Theresa (Grant), Johnny (Erin); grandchildren Britney (Christian), Braeden (Hope), Merissa (Cayden) and fur baby Susie, sister Maxine (Jack), brother-in-law Lionel (Lucy) and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, siblings and stepmother Agnes.
As per Jack’s wishes, no service will be held and an interment will be held at a later date with family. We would like to thank all the Doctors and Nurses at TBRHSC, 1A, and SJCG Hospice, 4N, for your care and compassion, as well as all the workers at homecare and Cathrine Bills
