John Boardman, age 75, of Thunder Bay, Ontario, passed peacefully on December 15, 2024.
John was born on October 3, 1949, to Robert (Bob) and Margaret (Peggy) Boardman in Londonderry, Ireland. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Doug (Tanis) and Dawn (Hugh); his grandchildren Piper and Peyton; his partner and best friend Krys Morsette and her children Jennifer, Pam (Tom), Drew (Natalie), Stephanie (Rodrigo), and their families; his siblings James Boardman (Wendy) and Jan Tall (Craig); his longtime friend and former spouse, Laura Boardman; and his many nieces, nephews, and friends.
At a young age, John immigrated to Canada with his family from Londonderry and they lived in Edmonton, Inuvik and Thompson. He later settled in Thunder Bay, where he started a family and worked for many years at Thunder Bay Terminals Ltd. John had a love of music, politics, current events, sports, and fishing.
We will remember our Dad for his one-of-a-kind sense of humour, the generous care he gave to those closest to him, his ability to start a conversation with anyone, anywhere, and his steadfast support of his children's and grandchildren's own dreams and ambitions.
A private interment will be scheduled at a later date in Gimli, Manitoba.
