It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Janet Clara Finlayson on January 6, 2025. She was the rock of our family, a constant source of love, strength, and unwavering support. Mom raised my brother and me on her own, working tirelessly to ensure we had the best life possible. Her selflessness, dedication, and fierce love for her children were the foundation of our lives.

Mom gave everything she had, her heart, her energy, and her spirit to make sure we always felt loved, cared for, and never alone. She was our biggest cheerleader, always lifting us up in times of joy and struggle. Her strength and resilience in the face of challenges were incredible, and she fought her illness with the same determination she showed throughout her life.

She was incredibly proud of her grandchildren and loved each of them with all her heart. Her face would light up whenever she spoke about them, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She always made sure they knew how special they were and how deeply she loved them.

While we are devastated by her loss, we take comfort in the legacy of hard work, love, and resilience that she leaves behind. We will carry her memory with us, always remembering the warmth of her love and the lessons she taught us. Though we feel lost without her, we know her spirit will live on in us, guiding and comforting us as we navigate this difficult time.

We ask for your love, prayers, and support as we grieve the loss of our beautiful mom. Her memory will forever be cherished, and she will remain in our hearts, always.

Love you forever and always, Mom.

Janet is survived by her daughter Allison Jack (Nathan Sr.); son Zack Finlayson (Kyla); grandchildren: Kaidence, Mercedes, Keira, Nathan Jr., Hayden, Logan, Tristin; sisters, Joyce Finlayson, Jennifer Legarde (Larry) & sister in law Elizabeth Ferris; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many family and friends.

She was predeceased by her mother Marie Pauline Dore; father Cecil Finlayson; step father Linus Dore; brothers Glenn, Gerald and Gregory; grandparents on both her mother & fathers side, niece Tabitha, infant nephew, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Wake will be held at the Long Lake #58 Recreation Centre beginning at 2:00pm on Friday January 10, 2025, with Funeral Services on Saturday January 11, 2025 commencing at 11:00am, officiated by Father Hugo Tremblay. Cremation will follow with interment in Longlac Cemetery at a later date.
