Ina Jean Johansson (nee Nordstrom) left us on October 29, 2024 after a lengthy illness. Raised in Kakabeka Falls and a lifelong resident of Slate River. Mom was active in many circles, whether it be the Credit Union, Tuesday afternoon bowling, camping at Whitefish, the Hwy 61 Ladies Tuesday night card games and maybe a trip or two across the border to Grand Portage. After moving to town, Mom quickly garnered some new card and scrabble friends at Sister Leila Greco. Mom was the centre of the world as we knew it, and could always be counted on for help, advice, guidance and when required, a stern lecture. Always the caregiver, she spent countless years supporting her family and was quite unruly when it was time for others to care for her………imagine that.

Predeceased by her parents Gottfred and Janet, stepfather Gus, siblings Donald, Fred and Bruce, husband Robert, son Robbie, and great grandson Parker. Left to remember her are son Erik (Elke), daughter Nancy, oldest grandchild Kristen (Jake) along with many grandkids, great grandkids, nieces and nephews. She was proud of each and every one.

Interment will be private and a family gathering will occur at a later date.

Special thanks to the staff of 2A for the care and support of Mom over the last while. Much appreciation to Dr. Biggs, Dr. Kevin and Dr. Robert, Nurses Shauna, Rhiannon, Braiden, Colin and others for making the extra efforts to fix what was fixable and keep Mom comfortable.

If I should ever leave you whom I love

To go along the Silent Way,

Grieve not,

Nor speak of me with tears,

But laugh and talk

Of me as if I were beside you there.

Condolences may be made through www.nwfainc.com
