Mrs. Heather Franks nee Priscott, age 79, passed away at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Monday October 30, 2023.

Heather was born August 4, 1944 in Moncton, New Brunswick to Janet and Jack Priscott(her dad was stationed in Shediac, New Brunswick). The family moved back to Fort William after WW2. Heather was the second oldest and the only girl in the family; sibling to Jackie, Roddy, Allen and Greg. She attended Selkirk High School. She went on to work at Fryer’s studio, McNulty’s store and even sewed tents. Later in life she worked as a Homemaker for the Red Cross and enjoyed helping the elderly. She met her husband Alvin Franks at Green Bay Beach in Shuniah. Mom and Dad were married for 52 years. She had 2 children whom she was immensely proud of, Lee-Ann and Robert. Mom enjoyed boating on Lake Superior with her family and fishing. Later enjoyed camping in a trailer and traveling to Mesa. They liked Mesa so much that they bought a Park Model and became snowbirds for a bit. Mesa was perfect for Mom as she loved making friends and doing all sorts of crafts and activities. Mom was creative, funny and had endless patience. She was always laughing. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and they could do no wrong in her eyes.

She is survived by her daughter Lee-Ann Kubinec(David, children-Chelsea and Jake) and her son Robert Franks(Kim, children-Jeremy, Nysha(Jesse-children William and Theo), Cameron(Haley), Ethan(Jessica) and Christian); brother Roddy Priscott; brother Allen Priscott(Darlene) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Alvin Franks, her parents Janet and Jack Priscott, brothers Greg Priscott and Jackie Priscott, nephew Randy Priscott and niece Jerilyn Priscott.

There will be a celebration of life on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Sargent and Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street at 11 am. There will also be a gathering afterward with refreshments to follow. The service will be livestreamed via Sargent & Son Facebook page.

I would like to personally thank Dr Zaib, Dr Sellick and Robert her RN along with the amazing caring Nursing staff on 3A at Thunder Bay Regional Heath Science Centre for caring for and helping my Mom through her last days.
