Mr. Gregory Morriseau “Chi-Nini” passed away peacefully at Southbridge Lakehead Manor on July 24, 2023.

Gregory was born in Port Arthur, Ontario, living in Thunder Bay and Gull Bay most of his life. He worked at one of the local elevators as well as Firefighting in NWO. Gregory had a motor vehicle accident which left him disabled. His main interests were spending time with his family, casino, bingo and going out for meals. He loved to laugh and make jokes, being good-humoured and fun to be around.

Gregory will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends along with new friends at Lakehead Manor where he resided for the past 8 months. His siblings are Donna Morriseau, Bernadette (Wayne) Letang, Irvin Morriseau (Laura), Timothy Harrington, Diane Davis, Miles, Mark, Darcy, Leslie, Vernon and Maryann Nawagesic. Niece Casie Mathewson whom he considered a daughter, brother-in-law Patrick Bouchard, and other nieces Loretta (Martin), Deanna Wilson (Charlie), “Rocky” Caroline Wilson (Micheal), Pricilla Bouchard (Ian), Norma Bouchard, Alison Bouchard (Lance), Norman Bouchard (Karen) as well as aunties Grace Esquega and Helen Nawagesic, and many extended family members.

He was predeceased by parents Adeline Morriseau and Gilbert Nawagesic, brother Glen Morriseau, sister Anne Marie Bouchard, nieces Melisa Mathewson and Wendy Lee Adeline Mathewson and many others who have passed on.

Gregory’s family would like to thank the staff of Lakehead Manor for their hospitality and kindhearted and personal touch in taking care of Greg. He considered the Manor home.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jenkens Funeral Home presided by Rev. Mr. Victor Pelletier. Visitation will begin one hour prior. Services will conclude in the chapel with cremation to follow.

Should friends so desire, donations may be made to Southbridge Lakehead Manor or the Diabetes Association.
