Gordon Edward Pike passed away unexpectedly with family by his side on September 3, 2024, at the age of 81, in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Born on March 17, 1943, in Fort William, Ontario, Gordon's life was marked by his humour, thoughtfulness, and friendly nature, traits that endeared him to all who knew him.

Gordon's early years were filled with strong bonds of family. He was a cherished brother to Bev (Mac) Gamble and Darlene (David) Carroll. As he grew, so did his family circle, which came to include his nieces, Tara (Herm), Melanie Olsen (Richard); his nephews, Chad Olsen and David T. (Talia) Carroll; and his great-nieces and great-nephew, Katie Olsen and Julia Konecny and Zachary Carroll and other extended family. Gordon also held a special place in his heart for his Uncle Ron Fortier, numerous cousins, and many special friends who became an integral part of his life's journey.

Gordon is predeceased by his mother Muriel and stepfather Dennis Claypole, his father Gordon Pike, brother Sandy and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.

Professionally, Gordon dedicated himself to the medical field, where his compassionate spirit and innate desire to help others. His work impacted many lives, leaving a legacy of care and dedication that will be remembered by colleagues and those he served. In his later years, Gordon continued his commitment to community service as a Crossing Guard for the City of Thunder Bay. There, he became a familiar and trusted figure, ensuring the safety of children with the same care and attention he had always shown in his medical career.

Gordon's interests were as diverse as they were passionate, but none more than his love for all animals. His dog, Pretty, was a constant companion and source of joy, embodying the special bond Gordon shared with all animals. This love was just one of the many ways he expressed his kind and gentle soul.

Those who had the pleasure of knowing Gordon will remember his quick wit and the laughter that often accompanied his presence. His humour was a gift that lightened the hearts of those around him, and it remains a cherished memory for friends and family alike. Gordon's thoughtfulness was evident in his every action, whether it was a kind word, a helping hand, or simply his willingness to listen.

Gordon's life was filled with the love of his family, the respect of his peers, and the countless friendships he nurtured along the way. He lived fully, loved deeply, and laughed often, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness that will continue to inspire those who knew him.

Though his physical presence is no longer with us we take solace in knowing that Gordon's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

At Gordon's request cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to Thunder Bay District Humane Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated
