Mrs. Ethel Bay, a resident of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully on October 19th, 2024, at the age of 85, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 13th, 1938, Ethel grew up in the East End and spent nearly three decades working at Zeller’s before retiring.

Ethel cherished time spent with family and enjoyed playing bingo with her sister Mary, visiting casinos, and being social. Her backyard was one of her favourite places, where she would relax on her swing, soaking up the sun while doing crosswords and listening to Johnny Reid. She enjoyed travelling with her husband Billy to warm, sandy beaches and loved hosting gatherings during the holiday season, where she took great joy in cooking for her family. Above all, she was a dedicated mother and grandmother, always prioritizing her family.

Known for her vibrant spirit and quick wit, Ethel had a way of making those around her smile. She will be deeply missed by her son Larry (Diane) Bay, daughter Donna (Mike) Martin, and her grandchildren Amanda (Brendan), Ryan (Deanna), Brittany (Jamie), Brandon, and Tyler, along with her great-grandchildren Jacob, William, and Jack. Ethel was predeceased by her beloved husband William (Billy) Bay, her parents Frank and Mary Dana, her sister Mary Rybar, nephew Robert Rybar, and her best friend Elizabeth Bell.

Cremation has taken place, and a private interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery at a later date.
