It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Emily Kuper (nee Kruzick) peacefully in her sleep on Thursday October 12, 2023 at the age of 86 years. A life-long resident of Thunder Bay, Emily was born in Port Arthur on November 5, 1936.

Mom excelled at many organized sports including ice hockey, softball and her major love – bowling. She volunteered her time as a Cub leader in her younger days.

Emily was very proud of her lifelong membership to the CWL (Catholic Women’s League). Mom was an avid flower and vegetable gardener along with husband Joe and always had a beautiful yard they were most proud of.

In later years, Mom & Dad were known as the “Crafty Couple” creating many wooden crafts for inside and out.

With her loving husband Joe by her side Emily raised a family of 4 boys in Current River.

Emily is survived by her sister Irene, her sons Steve (Brenda), Michael (Kristie) and Peter (Rhonda), 9 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren

Emily was predeceased by her parents, sister Helen, brother John, youngest son Mark, grandson Zachary and husband of 65 years Joe in 2021.

A special thanks to the staff at Southbridge Roseview Manor in caring for Mom during her final months with us.

In keeping with Mom’s wishes, cremation has already taken place.
