In the afternoon of November 1, 2024, our mother Doreen (95 years) passed away peacefully surrounded by family.
Doreen was born to parents John Panvica and Margaret (Valle). Mom was raised and educated in the East End area.
Doreen married Morris Charban on June 25, 1949. Upon moving to Westfort, together they created Charban’s Auto Body while raising their four children, Richard, Glenn, Karen and Linda.
Mom and Dad were bit by the travel bug wandering to many destinations abroad then becoming snowbirds settling in Tarpon Springs, Florida, where their door was always open to family and friends.
After the family business was sold, Mom and Dad moved north from Westfort and settled in Northwood for many years. After Dad passed in 1991, Mom later downsized to Clark Towers where she resided for many years eventually moving to Southbridge Roseview.
We wish to thank the staff of Southbridge Roseview, especially the Cheshire Wing for their exceptional care and concern they provided Mom in her final months.
Survived by Richard (Linda), Glenn (Sharon), Karen (Bronko Stosic), Linda (Ken Dziver). Grandchildren: Carrie, Christie, Caryn, Sarah, Nathan, Michaela, Tammy, Sara, Lisa, Michael and 11 Great-grand children. Also survived by Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law Joe and Joan Charban (Campbell River). Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins survive.
Predeceased by husband Morris, Parents John and Margaret, Brother John Jr. and Sister Bertha Palenchuk. Brothers-in-law George Palenchuck, Emil and Ernie Charban and Dave Slobodian. Sisters-in-law Isabel, Delores, Noreen, Helen Slobodian and Delores Panvica.
As per Doreen’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service and Celebration of Life will take place on November 14th. If so desired, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
