It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Dale Howard Radford, 59, on December 30th, 2024, at his home in Calgary, Alberta.
Dale was born July 15th, 1965 in Thunder Bay, Ontario to Mary Louella Radford (Buchanan) and his step dad Raymond (Rep) Parker where he spent the majority of his life. Dale grew up the youngest of 6 siblings; three sisters and two brothers; Diana, Donna, Denise, Douglas, and Darcy.
Dale had a deep connection to nature and was most at peace near the river, surrounded by forest, birds, and wildlife with a fishing rod in his hand. Dale loved cooking, solving crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy! Dale was a gifted artist, writer, intellectual, and profoundly sentimental person.
Dale was generous and would do anything for those he loved. He had a remarkable ability to make you smile, regardless of the circumstances. His quick wit and good sense of humor brought light to even the darkest moments, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
From a young age, Dale had a passion for Martial Arts, and found his purpose in teaching. Dale, who had been practicing Isshin Ryu Karate since his teenage years alongside his colleague and friend Joe, opened their own dojo in Thunder Bay, naming it Kokoro (Mind, Body, Spirit) to embody the core principles of Isshin Ryu.
Dale’s greatest legacy and pride are his three beloved children: Chellsea, Collin, and Jessica, and his five grandchildren: Jaren, Kianna, Rylan, Haruki, and Nolan.
We will always carry your memory and strength in our hearts. This is not goodbye, Dad, this is “see you later.” Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held in Thunder Bay at a later date.
