CHERYL LYNN PETERSON (STRANGES) October 26, 1957 – September 26, 2023.

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. Cheryl Peterson, age 65, died peacefully at TBRHSC with her two children by her side after a short battle with cancer. Cheryl was the kindest, most loving, and generous person, who stopped at nothing to ensure her children were always taken care of despite the circumstances. Although experiencing many struggles in life, she is remembered for her resilience and dedication to being a good mother. She inspired us to want to be the best we can be and love as hard as she did.

Cheryl was so proud of her family, she had the most beautiful bond with her granddaughter Aliyah, from being the first person to hold her at birth until 11 years later, they have been inseparable. Aliyah will forever cherish those memories and hold a special place in her heart. Avishay is her second grandchild, he was born in April, just before she was diagnosed with cancer, she loved and adored him so much, he brought sunshine and smiles to her darkest days. Cheryl enjoyed walking her dog Buddy and talking on the phone with her best friend despite the distance between them.

Cheryl is survived by her son Cody (Rita), daughter Lindsay, grandchildren Aliyah, and Avishay and her lifelong best friend Debbie. Cheryl is predeceased by her mother Ann and father Alfred Stranges.

We would like to say thank you to Nurse Carly in the Oncology Department 1A and the nurses in the Intensive Care Unit (Brent, Sean, and Mike), this was a very difficult time for us, but your genuine care, compassion and support were appreciated.
