It is with heartbreak and deep sadness that Callum’s family announces his unexpected but peaceful passing on Wednesday, September 25, 2024.

With his infectious smile, he lived life to the fullest.  Like his father, he always saw the best in everyone and was ready to lend a helping hand to anyone.

Callum enjoyed participating in sports including high school and university wrestling, many levels of skiing and Judo, where he was very proud of earning his black belt.  He carried his love of sports on through coaching wrestling, judo and Special Olympic skiing, a time in his life he truly cherished and during which he provided a positive impact in the lives of all those involved.

Callum left us far too soon.  Remember… Life can be short so please give those you love a big hug!

Callum will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his mother Jan Thomson, sister Karen Thomson, best bud and companion Neva, uncle Duncan (Liz) MacKay, aunt Sonja Ryder, cousins Sian (Scot) MacDonald, Catrina (Ben) Linton, Vikki Ryder and Jeff Ryder as well as by many dear friends.  He was predeceased by his father Bert.

A celebration of Callum’s life will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024 when family and friends will gather in the Ballroom at the Valhalla Inn.  Visitation will be from 1-4 p.m. with words of tribute beginning at 2 p.m. led by Suzann Quirion.  Those unable to attend in person will be able to view the words of tribute via livestream on the Sargent and Son Facebook page.  As expressions of sympathy donations in Callum’s memory to Special Olympics or the Underground Gym would be gratefully appreciated.  On-line condolences may be made at www.sargentandson.com.
