Mrs. Bertha Aili Niemi (Soini), age 96 years, passed away on February 20, 2024 at Roseview Manor.
Bertha was born September 11, 1927 in Fort William, Ontario. She worked at Canada Car, Hoito, Dr. Ramore’s Dental Office and Eatons.
Bertha enjoyed doing many different types of handwork and loved to bake. Formerly from Bethel Lutheran Church, now a FELM member, she loved going to camp, walking with Onni, and spending time with family and friends.
Bertha will be lovingly missed by daughter Rose, son Kenneth, grandchildren Katrina Hill, Sam Niemi, Kirsti Battista and Emma-Liisa Piirtoniemi, great grandchildren Gabrielle, Cynthia and David Tuomisto. Her husband in 2010 predeceased Bertha, parents Amanda 1992 and Sam Soini 1970.
Funeral Services for Bertha will be held at Lappe Lutheran Church, 3215 Dog Lake Rd, Gorham, on Monday, February 26, 2024 presided by Pastor Neil Otke at 11:00am. Interment will follow the reception at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 3200 Oliver Rd, Thunder Bay. Visitation for family and friends will begin one hour prior to the service.
If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bertha’s memory to the Salvation Army.
