It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Ashley Elizabeth Cadeau (Grills) on Friday, October 18th, 2024, at the age of 41, after a courageous 17 month battle with cancer.

Supporting wife to Brent and loving mother to Sheppard and Jack. Daughter of Clare and Lynn Grills, sister to Heather Grills, Laura Merrill (Jesse), special auntie to Joey and Charley. Daughter-in-law of Ronald and Joanne Cadeau. Granddaughter of Irene Grills (Roy), Bill and Ethel Hawman. She will be fondly remembered by all her aunts, uncles and cousins who loved her dearly.

Born in Peterborough on September 19th, 1983  Ashley enjoyed spending time on the Hawman family farm, 4-H clubs, riding her horse, playing ringette and spending as much time outdoors as possible. Ashley began service with the Peterborough OPP in 2006 where she served for several years before transferring to Sioux Lookout to begin her life with Brent, later relocating to the farm in Dorion in 2011. She was proud to serve in many communities including Pickle Lake, Greenstone, and Nipigon, as well as the North West Emergency Response Team.

A Celebration of Ashley's Life will be held on Monday, October 28th, 2024 from 4:00 until 7:00pm in the Hurkett Community Centre (110 Highway 582, Hurkett, Ontario).

Our Celebration of Ashley's Life will continue in her hometown of Ennismore, on Saturday, November 2nd, 2024 from 1:00pm until 4:00pm at the Hawman Farm (207 Cottingham Road, Omemee, Ontario).

Tributes and Memories of Ashley will be shared during the first hour of both celebrations.

In memory of Ashley and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Thunder Bay Beef 4-H Club or to a Trust for her children, Sheppard and Jack (payable to Brent Cadeau).

Arrangements have been entrusted to the EVEREST – WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street, Thunder Bay.
