On September 10, 2023, the Oakland Raiders lost their biggest fan. Alexander "Alex" Leif Myros passed away unexpectedly at the age of 36 in his hometown of Thunder Bay.

One of Alex’s greatest achievements in life was his role as a devoted and loving father to his daughter, Ava. He was a talented athlete, who showed prowess on both the basketball courts and football fields. Alex was an avid sports fan and angler, a fisherman through and through. He joined the Boiler Maker Union the age of 17 and completed his Journeyman Papers by the age of 24. Alex attended Red River College and achieved his Interprovincial Red Seal. In 2013, Alex was awarded a Medal of Bravery along with two fellow teammates for their heroic acts of rescuing and saving the lives of two young children; he will forever be remembered as a hero.

Alex is survived by his 10 year old daughter Ava Facca-Myros, her grandparents Kim and Joel Facca, his father, Paul Myros; his mother, Suzanne and her husband Jon Sauer; his grandmother, Linda Thompson; his siblings, Matthew and Kimberly Myros and Lance Sauer; and partner, Michelle Groulx.

If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made by donating to a Trust Account established for Alex's daughter, Ava Facca-Myros by visiting any Bay Credit Union location or by E-transfer to the following e-mail address: [email protected]

"Leave everything on the court. Leave the game better than you found it. When it comes time for you to leave, leave a legend." - Kobe Bryant
