Winnie the Pooh Park flower planting gets help from local students

Community volunteers and local school students rally together to help continue to make Winnie The Pooh Park a beautiful part of White River.

WHITE RIVER—The Township of White River reached out to the community recently to ask for volunteers to help plant flowers at Winnie The Pooh Park.

The community responded willingly, and the project even received help from a group of students, from St. Basil School.

The project started on June 22, 2022, when students under the guidance of their teacher Mrs. Albert and Mr. Boucher, gathered enthusiastically to offer great help.

Volunteers from the community also stepped up to help as the township offered helpers water, gloves, sunscreen and bug spray.

The township sent out  a “BIG thank you” to students and teachers from St. Basil as well as Jan Ramage who was a volunteer from the community.

Thanks to the efforts of these groups and individuals, Winnie The Pooh park continues to be a symbol of community pride and a park filled with beautiful flowers.
