NIPIGON — A pair of Nipigon men face multiple charges in relation to a robbery, including uttering threats to cause death or cause bodily harm.

Ontario Provincial Police, in a release issued on Wednesday, said they were called at about 2:20 a.m. on Aug. 15 to a disturbance in the area of Hogan Road in Nipigon Township, where they located a pair of injured males.

A further investigation revealed a second residence had been allegedly broken into by the two suspects.

A 32-year-old Nipigon man faces two counts of assault causing bodily harm, two counts of break and entering a dwelling house with the intent to commit indictable offences and two counts of mischief under $5,000.

He also faces single charges of robbery with theft and one count of uttering threat to cause death or bodily harm.

A 40-year-old from Nipigon was charged with two counts of assault causing bodily harm, two counts of mischief under $5,000, two counts of break and entering a dwelling house with the intent to commit indictable offences and a single count of robbery with theft.

The accused were remanded into custody and scheduled to appear in court in Thunder Bay at a later date.

It is SNNewswatch’s policy not to name suspects in cases where there is little likelihood of the case being followed through the courts.
