MANITOUWADGE — Prohibited firearms, replica style firearms, prohibited weapons and suspected crystal methamphetamine were allegedly seized by police at a Manitouwadge residence on Wednesday.

Officers with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment in Manitouwadge arrested and charged two people with drug related offences, according to a media release issued Thursday.

A 31-year-old woman and 35-year-old man, both Manitouwadge residents, are each facing multiple firearm and weapons-related charges as well as being charged with possession of a schedule I substance.

Police ask that any one with information about the trafficking of illicit drugs contact them directly or anonymously via Crime Stoppers.

It is Newswatch policy not to name people facing criminal accusations when we are unlikely to follow the case to its conclusion in the courts.
