UPDATED Tractor-trailer collision disrupts traffic on Highway 11

BEARDMORE — Traffic was disrupted early Tuesday after a collision involving a transport truck on Highway 11, about 30 km north of Nipigon.

According to the Ministry of Transportation's Ontario511, the accident occurred south of Orient Bay, and left the tractor-trailer jackknifed across the highway.

A photo from the collision scene that was posted on the Facebook page of Highway 11/17 Kills People showed both lanes were blocked, and debris was scattered across the highway.

The ministry reported later that only the eastbound lanes remained blocked, and that traffic control was in place until the highway could be completely reopened.

OPP said no one was injured in the incident.

A 25 year old male truck driver from Mississauga, Ontario has been charged with careless driving.
