Tim Hortons trading cards take a historical step

Hockey cards will be available starting next week.

ONTARIO -- For the first time, the Tim Hortons trading cards collection is taking a historical step as they will feature women’s hockey stars.

Beginning Jan. 5, 2022, the 180-card Tim Hortons Team Canada Trading Cards collection will feature women’s hockey stars, and past and present Hockey Canada heroes.

A set of cards will highlight world-class stars from Canada’s National Women’s Team that includes Mélodie Daoust, Brianne Jenner, Rebecca Johnston, Sarah Nurse, Marie-Philip Poulin and Natalie Spooner.

Along with some of the best from the men’s to ever wear a Hockey Canada jersey. These cards will include Martin Brodeur, Paul Coffey, Sidney Crosby, Phil Esposito, Grant Fuhr, Wayne Gretzky, Bobby Hull, Guy Lafleur, Mario Lemieux, Eric Lindros, Nathan Mackinnon, Connor McDavid, Mark Messier, Cary Price, Jonathan Toews, and Steve Yzerman.

Avid hockey card collectors will have an opportunity to find limited-edition cards featuring pieces of authentic jerseys worn in games by Poulin and Johnston.

Other features of the Tim Hortons Team Canada Trading Cards collection include cards autographed by Sidney Crosby, Pierre-Luc Dubois, Grant Fuhr, Wayne Gretzky, Jarome Iginla, Alexis Lafrenière, Mario Lemieux, Nathan MacKinnon, Mitch Marner, McDavid, Mark Messier, Carey Price and Jonathan Toews.

Cards that are autographed will feature pieces of authentic jerseys worn in games by Quinton Byfield, Jarome Iginia, Alexis Lafrenière, Connor McDavid, Nick Suzuki and Jonathan Toews.

Participating Tim Hortons restaurants across Canada, will make these cards available, beginning on Jan. 5, 2022, the day of the gold medal game at the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship.
