Residents across the Northwest are getting their runners ready for Sunday, when the 42nd Annual Terry Fox Run for cancer research will take place.
Peter Bertin is the main organizer of the event in Marathon. He is also a cancer survivor and credits research for assisting him in his battle.
“It’s something that’s near and dear to my heart – I’ve suffered with cancer now three times around and battled it successfully,” he said.
“I find a lot of that is due to this cancer research that’s done. They need that money to keep that cancer research going.”
Communities including Schreiber and Hornepayne are also holding events, while a virtual event will take place in White River.
Residents can find more information about local events at the Terry Fox Foundation’s website.
