Suspect arrested in Dorion robbery

A woman from Red Lake faces multiple charges including robbery with violence.

NIPIGON — Ontario Provincial Police have charged a woman with robbery after an incident at a business in Dorion on the weekend.

It occurred late Saturday afternoon at the Canyon Country Co-op.

Officers from the Nipigon detachment and the Anishinabek Police Service responded to a call about a robbery in progress.

Police located a female inside the business, and arrested her without incident.

The 34-year-old resident of Red Lake is charged with robbery with violence, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, mischief under $5,000, and theft under $5,000.

The accused was remanded into custody pending a bail hearing.
