HORNEPAYNE—Students at Hornepayne Elementary and Secondary School are partnering to “Making a Change”, a house fundraising competition, to help raise money for the Canadian-Ukraine Foundation.

Houses from the elementary school have been paired up with "Houses" from the high school for this challenge.

According to the schools, four main jars have been set up in the office and each pair of teams in this challenge have been assigned their own jar. The teams have been challenged to fill up their House jar with as much “change” as possible.

This can be done in two ways:

  1. Bring in as much change (money) to place in the team House jar.
  2. Bring some positive change to the school by doing something positive. This could be things like completing your homework, answering a question or doing something kind for another student.

If a teacher notices, they will give the student a “ticket” on which they can put their name on, and then they can place in the team House jar. These tickets will be added up and go to the team total.

This challenge is said to run from May 16, to May 27, 2022. At the end of this challenge, the team with the most “change” and tickets wins.

According to the schools, all proceeds will be donated to the Canadian-Ukraine Foundation.
