THUNDER BAY — Recalls have been issued for rear-axle issues on some 2023 Ford trucks.

Transport Canada indicates in their recall notice that in some F-250 and F-350 Super Duty trucks, the left-rear axle shaft might not have been manufactured properly, thus posing a risk.

If the axle shaft breaks, it could cause the wheels to lose power. Additionally, if the truck is parked and the parking brake isn't engaged, the vehicle could roll away.

In their release, the recall only affects rear-wheel trucks with a 10.5-inch rear axle, which is less than three thousand vehicles.

Owners will receive a notification in the mail from Ford if they have an affected truck. Owners will then be able to take the truck to a dealership and have the issue inspected and replaced if necessary.
