Snow squall warning in effect for Beardmore area

Heavy snow expected to last until Monday, making travel treacherous at times.

BEARDMORE -- A snow squall warning is in effect for the communities of Beardmore, Jellicoe and Maciarmid.

According to Environment Canada, lake effect snow is expected to pound the area, resulting in heavy snow and reduced visibility.

Residents and motorists are advised to prepare for quick changing and deteriorating travel conditions, especially along Highway 11 and Highway 17.

Snowfall amounts are variable.

Snow is expected to taper off on Monday
