Significant progress being made on Hornepayne Hotel

Construction of the new 46-unit hotel in Hornepayne is taking shape after a long wait.

HORNEPAYNE - Over the last few months, the development of the nearly $8 million Studio 6 Rideout Hotel in Hornepayne is starting to take shape as most of the external work is complete.

Hornepayne Mayor Cheryl Fort said significant progress is made.

“I got to go on a tour just the other day on Sunday. All framing inside the staircases is in. All the windows are in. The roof is done. It's all shingled,” Fort said.

On the inside, electrical wiring and drywalling still needs to be completed, Fort said.

“It just is fabulous. It looks fantastic. It's so nice to see a new build in Hornepayne,” she said.

Once complete, the new hotel will fill in a necessary gap along Northern Ontario’s lengthy highways between municipalities.

Officials are expecting the hotel to be ready later in spring.
