NIPIGON – Police in Nipigon have arrested three people after serving warrants at addresses in Lake Helen First Nation and Red Rock.
In a release issued on Friday night, Ontario Provincial Police say the investigation led to the March 24 seizure of suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, hydromorphone and Canadian currency.
A 43-year-old female from Nipigon was charged with four counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds obtained by crime under $5,000.
The accused was released and is expected back in court on April 22.
A day later police executed another search warrant in Red Rock, where they seized suspected cocaine, amphetamine, psilocybin and Canadian currency.
A 33-year male from Red Rock was arrested and charged with two counts of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, one count of a Schedule 3 substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and failure to comply with a release order.
The accused was held for bail and remanded to the Thunder Bay District Jail.
A 26-year-old female from Red Rock was charged with two counts of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, one count of a Schedule 3 substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
The accused was released from custody and is expected in court in Nipigon on May 13.
