NIPIGON, Ont. – Ontario Provincial Police have recovered a trio of vehicles stolen from an industrial site in Nipigon over the weekend, while an investigation into the incident continued.
Multiple people were believed to have helped remove the vehicles, which included a Honda Pioneer side-by-side utility vehicle, a Polaris Ranger side-by-side utility vehicle, an enclosed trailer, a Ford F250 truck and brush-clearing equipment.
The thieves also made off with a catalytic converter and caused damage to other vehicles at the industrial site, which police did not identify in a release issued on Sunday.
Officers with the Nipigon detachment responded to a pair of reports of motor vehicle thefts on Friday, Aug. 4, and Saturday, Aug. 5, according to the release.
The vehicles were recovered on crown land in the townships of Nipigon and Lyon, west of Nipigon, said OPP Sergeant Mitchell Brennen. Police credited assistance from the owner and public for the recovery.
No arrests had been made in the incident as of Monday, Brennen said.
The OPP called for public assistance in an ongoing investigation.
