OPP lays charges after motor vehicle accident

A Greenstone resident facing impaired driving charges following a vehicle accident where the driver drove into the ditch.

GERALDTON – According to OPP Northwest Region, in the early morning of July 9 officers with the Greenstone OPP Detachment responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 11 between Geraldton and Jellicoe.

During the investigation, officers determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol

Upon further testing, officers found the driver had a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.

There were no injuries reported to police as a result of the collision.

As a result, a 37-year-old from Geraldton was arrested and charged with impaired driving and failure to provide an insurance card.

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the court in July.
