THUNDER BAY – Nishnawbe Aski Nation Head Electoral Officer Audrey Gilbeau has released the nominations for the 2024 Election for the Executive Council.
The deadline for nominations was June 15.
The following nominations have been released by Head Electoral Officer Audrey Gilbeau of Nishnawbe Aski Nation (NAN).
Candidates for Grand Chief:
- Alvin Fiddler, Muskrat Dam First Nation
- Pauline Penena Mickelson, Sachigo Lake First Nation
- Bobby A. Narcisse, Aroland
First Nation Candidates for Deputy Grand Chief:
- Anna Betty Achneepineskum, Marten Falls First Nation
- Mike Metatawabin, Fort Albany First Nation
- Bobby A. Narcisse, Aroland First Nation
The official campaign will run from June 30 until Election Day during the 42nd Keewaywin Conference held on Aug. 13, 14 and 15 in Constance Lake First Nation.
The head electoral officer will oversee all aspects of the election and deal with any issues during the campaign period and election.
