Marathon man charged with impaired driving at Neys Provincial Park

A 56-year-old Marathon man faces impaired driving charges after being stopped by park wardens at Neys Provincial Park.

NEYS PROVINCIAL PARK – A 56-year-old Marathon man faces impaired driving charges after being stopped by park wardens at Neys Provincial Park.

Wardens had stopped the man on the evening of Aug. 5 on suspicion of driving impaired. Marathon OPP responded around 7 p.m. with assistance from the Anishinabek Police Service.

The man is charged with impaired driving and impaired driving with a blood alcohol concentration of over 80 milligrams per millilitre of blood.

The accused received a 90-day licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The man was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Marathon in September.
