MARATHON: The Municipality of Marathon and District has a new Facebook page. They informed residents that they will be sharing trivia, photos from their archival collections, clippings from older issues of the Marathon Mercury, and much more.
Residents and the District are invited to come to the museum and check out their current exhibits, which include displays on Port Coldwell, D.C. Everest, the Peninsula Tug, the Pukaskwa Pits, a scale model of the pulp mill created by Port Coldwell, D.C. Everest, the Penisula Tug, the Pukaskwa Pits, a scale model of the pulp mill created by Tom Wilson, and a large collection of water-colour artwork depicting the local area, by Zig Campbell.
The Municipality also shared that they are currently developing a new exhibit on the Canadian Pacific Railway, the forest industry, the fur trade, and the history of life in the town in its early days.
