GREENSTONE – According to the OPP Northwest Region, on the evening of June 29 officers with the Greenstone OPP detachment responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver.

Once officers located the vehicle on First Street East, they initiated a traffic stop and determined the driver was impaired by alcohol.

Further testing revealed that the driver had a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.

As a result, a 28-year-old from Aroland First Nation was arrested and charged with impaired driving, operating a vehicle without insurance, driving without plates, driving without a licence, and failing to apply for a permit to become an owner of the vehicle.

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the court later this month.
