SUPERIOR NORTH — Ontario Provincial Police logged 414 occurrences last week.

Officers with the Greenstone, Marathon, and Nipigon detachments logged upwards of 35 types of calls for service, ranging from traffic complaints to ambulance assistance to suspicious vehicle calls.

The most frequent type of incident in Marathon was eTickets, with 33 issued in total.

The OPP in Greenstone responded to 14 police escort calls, which were the main reason for their calls for service during the reporting period.

Last week, officers in Nipigon logged 19 incidents during R.I.D.E programs and police in Marathon attended 21 community service calls. Many of those calls are from police proactively attending city events and showing a presence in the community during activities.

The OPP is reminding the public about its online reporting system, which can be used as an alternative to having an officer attend a scene for a minor incident.

Citizen Self Reporting (CSR) was rolled out across the province in 2014, and it is an efficient system for reporting certain minor incidents and crimes.
