Last week in numbers: OPP Superior North calls for service

It was a fairly quiet week for the OPP in the Superior North region

SUPERIOR NORTH — Officers responded to less than 150 calls for service, according to a report from OPP.

It was a relatively light week for the Superior North region, according to an OPP spokesperson. Officers with the Greenstone, Marathon and Nipigon detachments responded to 134 occurrences combined.

The highest numbers in both Marathon and Greenstone were for traffic-related incidents with 36 and 35 e-Tickets issued respectively.

Nipigon had substantially fewer traffic incidents with 15 eTickets issued, but that still topped the list of call types for that detachment.

The OPP is reminding the public about their online reporting system as an alternative to having an officer attend a scene for a minor incident.

Citizen Self Reporting (CSR) was rolled out across the province in 2014, and it is an efficient system for reporting certain minor incidents and crimes.
