NIPIGON — A transport truck appeared to lose control on a section of Highway 11 north of Nipigon, jackknifed and blocked the roadway for several hours.

In an email to Newswatch, Ontario Provincial Police said that the incident happened at mile marker 1330 near Lake Helen, closing the highway in both directions.

No injuries were reported, a police spokesperson said and a tow truck was called to help clear the scene.

Ontario 511 reported the incident just after 10:45 a.m. Wednesday. It cleared the incident shortly after 2:05 p.m.

OPP have confirmed the highway is fully open.

Pictures posted to the Skilled Truckers Canada Facebook page appeared to show a transport, still upright, with its cab off the road in the snow and its trailer at a near-90-degree angle blocking both lanes of traffic.
