SCHREIBER – A motor-vehicle collision in Schreiber has led to impaired charges being laid against a teen driver from Terrace Bay.

Ontario Provincial Police, in a release issued on Wednesday, said they were called to a report of single-vehicle collision near Sunset Drive in Terrace Bay at about 1 a.m. on Nov. 13.

The accused, a 19-year-old, faces charges of operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

A 90-day administrative drivers license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment were also issued.

Additionally, the driver faces charges of young driver – blood alcohol concentration above zero, fail to have insurance card, fail to surrender license and driving a motor vehicle without a permit.

It is Newswatch policy not to name suspects in cases in which we do not expect to follow through to their conclusion in court.
